Vilnius becomes a capital of industrial music. One more festival like Icetodiron and I’ll move to Lithuania for a living. Great event, great organization, great venue, great atmosphere.
My English is too bad so I’ll be short and let the photos tell the story.
So, Martin Bladh has started the festival. He took away his pants and showed to amazed auditory his dick, then he laid on a some sort of bed on the stage and the show has begun. Public had to look on a naked body or should I say hairy butt? Peter Andersson of Raison D’etre walked around the stage dressed as a some sort of doctor (a proctologist?) From time to time he was pouring water and various liquids on the body… you ask me about music? Well, I’ve heard only primitive wall of noise. Since I do not like naked men and pure noise I had to go away…
Not the best shot… not the best music :)

The second project on the stage – Lithuanian OORCHACH. Mad looking guy was playing monotonous mix of rhythmic noise and martial. One track would be nice to listen, two of them – too many. Plus, he behaved on the stage like a drunk schoolboy so I decided not to waste memory of my camera for that project.
Third was Lina Baby Doll, the friend of all Lithuanian industrial folks. This time he was so drunk that he couldn’t operate with his equipment. As I see, he has destroyed his DAT tape so he couldn’t play music, then other sorts of his hellish machines got broken… Lina tried to sing, but it was too hard for him, so finally he has decided to stop the circus as leave… Luckily, most of the listeners did not notice the problem and have decided that it’s some sort of experimental tracks of DEUTSCH NEPAL.

IRM, one of the most brutal power electronics bands from Sweden. This time IRM operated as duo of Martin Bladh and Peter Andersson. Peter was playing around with his equipment, Martin was running around the stage. I wasn’t impressed by this set, but it’s pretty OK. Frankly, I wasn’t expecting much from them so they have fulfilled my expectations :)

I hear a voice from heaven!

I have seen BDN once before and I should mention that Lithuanian set of Roger wasn’t the best. No violence, no crazy show, no screams I Wish I were a Little Girl. Roger preferred to play “instrumental” set without vocal part… well, I forgot to mention huge mirrors on the stage, old TV set with white noise on the screen, lots of artificial fog and Peter Andersson dressed like a psycho from Mars – he was wearing car tires, boots for fishing and black swimming trunks…

Peter Andersson helps to Roger with his guitar solos!

Monster from Mars attacks!

ATOMINE ELECTRINE was good as I have predicted. Nice relaxing music with abstract back drop and Peter behind his laptop.

In a summary… the festival was one of the best organized among all I have seen before, but the bands could play better. Anyway it was great event and I’ll come to Vilnius for more!
